Cross-Organization API Sharing
diid allows organizations to share API specifications securely across business units or with partner organizations via Access Grants.
Access Grants & Sharing Links
To connect a consumer project in Organization A to an API producer project in Organization B:
1. Manual Access Grants
An administrator in Organization B creates an Access Grant by specifying Organization A's public organization ID.
2. Sharing Links
Organization B can generate a secure, single-use sharing link for a project. An administrator in Organization A opens the link to accept the grant and connect their projects.
Visibility & Isolation
Access Grants share contract details without exposing internal topology:
| Project Attribute | Shared Externally? | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Name & Description | Yes | Project identification. |
| API Specifications | Yes | Active contracts and schemas for consumer integration. |
| Version History | Yes | Release notes and schema diffs. |
| Internal Upstream Dependencies | No | Services consumed by the producer remain hidden. |
| Other Consumers | No | Other organizations consuming the API are hidden. |
Access Revocation
Access Grants automatically clean up to prevent lingering permissions:
- If all dependency links between a consumer organization and a shared project are removed, the Access Grant is revoked automatically.
- Once revoked, external read access to the project and its specs is removed.
